The Level 1 Certification for Certified Running Technique Specialists (CRTS) focuses on equipping individuals with the skills to effectively teach and coach running technique, addressing the growing need for expertise due to increased movement-related injuries and athletic participation. To earn this credential, candidates must meet eligibility requirements, pass the CRTS examination, and adhere to a professional practice standard. Since 1997, this certification has been a foundational step for those interested in running instruction and coaching.
The exam will test your knowledge of the subject matter and if you meet the level of competence necessary to earn the certification. After successfully completing the exam, you will earn an internationally known and respected credential that will compliment your other current credentials and can set you on a compelling new career path.

It is very important to pace yourself accordingly to finish the exam on time. Some of the questions include tables, drawings, photographs, or video clips. Taking the examination requires little or no computer experience. You must take the entire exam in one sitting.
A computer and internet connection check is performed at the beginning of each session to identify any potential technical issues before the exam starts. This check runs automatically, requiring user intervention only if problems are detected.
The proctoring system may prompt you to capture a photo of your face using a webcam as part of the identity verification process. Additionally, it may request your identification document (ID), which can be submitted either through the webcam or uploaded as a JPEG file of up to 5 MB from your personal computer.
Although there is no singular resource offering a complete overview of the methodology behind this credential’s development, a variety of sources exist that provide both educational and practical insights.
